Job Description:


?Gas Turbine performance, including awareness of component behaviour. ?Architecture familiarity. ?Test cell and measurement system understanding. ?Some analysis / statistical skills an advantage. ?Good PC skills, particularly data manipulation in Excel and Matlab. ?Ability to create and manipulate SQL ?Basic knowledge of basic gas turbine performance. ?Basic understanding of thermodynamic engine models.

Desired Candidate Profile

?Assessment of competitor aero engines as required, covering thermodynamic performance, engine design and component assessments. Comparison against industry standard of engine performance level, component performance and design. How the engines fit into a family plan, business strategy and what the growth routes might be. Identification of key novel design solutions. ?Production of an engine performance model ?Pack of view foils covering design comments and performance summary ?Patent search where appropriate ?Comment on growth plan ?Weight assessment ?Data analysis of in-service events using advanced and experimental performance methods. ?Data reduction and analysis of flight data using Matlab, SQL Databases and Visual Basic for Applications (within Excel) ?Analysis of fleet operation looking for factors, which may increase the risk of unplanned engine removal or in-service disruption (aircraft / engine utilization, operator route structure analysis etc.)
