Network Monitor

The Dude network monitor is a new application by MikroTik which can dramatically improve the way you manage your network environment. It can automatically scan all devices within specified subnets, draw and layout a map of your networks, monitor services of your devices and alert you in the event of problems related to service. The Dude is free of charge, its features include: Auto network discovery and layout; Discovers any type or brand of device; Device, Link monitoring, and notifications; Includes SVG icons for devices, and supports custom icons and backgrounds; lets you draw your own maps and add custom devices; Supports SNMP, ICMP, DNS and TCP; Individual Link usage monitoring and graphs; Direct access to remote control tools for device management Supports remote Dude server and local client; and Easy installation and usage.

Instant Mask

To remove background colour from images one could use the versatile Photoshop, but, to learn to use it isnt easy, and not an immediate solution. Instead try Instant Mask. It's a simple tool which can be used to identify the foreground and background colors of an image and replace it with a custom color of your choice. Just load an image into the program and use the two markers to work with - The Green one used to select the foreground color, and the red to select the background color of the image. Once the foreground and backgrounds are identified, click the process button to remove the background. You can also use the search button to zoom onto your image. The photos can be saved as a new image or can be overwritten on the existing one. The USP of Instantmask is that it's free, simple and doesn't require knowledge of image editing software to execute the job quickly.
