Explorer++ is a great portable and lightweight third-party file browser for Windows that has been around for a while and has recently received an update, fixing several bugs and making it more stable. It provides you with tabbed browsing, complete integration with the operating system, ability to split and merge files, search files with name and attribute filters, and a lot more.

A major issue for many users when it comes to third-party file managers is that they look quite different from Windows Explorer, and overwhelm you by putting buttons and lists for everything but the kitchen sink in the toolbars. Fortunately, Explorer++ has been designed to look close to the native Windows Explorer, while providing users with some more useful features, without adding every feature imaginable. The left pane contains the familiar folder tree while the contents of each selected folder are displayed in the right pane, just the way you are used to. Each volume and folder can also be opened in a new tab by right-clicking it and selecting the Open in New Tab option – something we're used to from web browsers

Toogles is an alternative web interface for YouTube that takes a different approach to presenting videos hosted on it. Popular videos all appear on the front page of Toogles, and a sidebar on the left takes care of search filters and video categories that you can switch between.

Toogles' landing page shows you popular videos by default, and the bar on the left lists the video categories. You'll notice a search bar and a blue `Search YouTube' button. Click it to switch to search mode. You can use the search bar without switching to search mode, but the latter gives you filters to narrow down the results. These filters allow you to sort videos by relevance, upload date, number of views, and rating. The time of upload can be switched from the current day to the current month. Lastly, videos can also be filtered by their length; for instance, videos shorter than four minutes or longer than twenty minutes can be filtered.

When a video is played, it occupies most of the page. A full-screen button at the top of the left bar (which now shows the video description and stats) lets you collapse the left bar itself. As the name implies, the `Related' tab lists all videos related to the current one. Comments are hidden altogether, as is the number of likes/dislikes. When you hover your mouse cursor over the top-right region of a video, a share icon becomes visible, and clicking it reveals sharing options.

Toogle's interface is quite clean, but it won't let you sign in to your YouTube account, which can be a major drawback for some. In that sense, some functionality is definitely sacrificed for the cleaner interface. There is considerable wasted space below a video but other than that, you'll find Toogles gives you a reasonably good viewing experience, especially compared to the default YouTube interface. Toogles also has a Chrome extension that will open all YouTube links on Toogles by default, instead of YouTube.

OpenWith Enhanced. It is an application for Windows that replaces the native `Open with…' dialog box of Windows with an enhanced version that offers more options. After installation, the application automatically replaces the native `Open with…' menu & dialog, and can be accessed through the default option in the context menu.

Instead of just providing you with an unorganized list of applications installed on your system, the new OpenWith (Ehnanced) dialog displays all the installed programs that can actually open the file in question, along with programs recommended by the app for opening the file that aren't currently installed. The recommended programs are listed at the top, while you can still access all other installed programs from the lower pane.

OpenWith Enhanced works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder.

It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it!
