What is Project Kenai?

Project Kenai is Sun's connected developer destination, where developers can host open source projects, as well as connect, communicate, and collaborate with developers of like mind.

How do I get started?

Anyone can sign up as a member and get involved with existing projects. To host a project, simply click the Request Project Creation button you see on your My Page.

User Profile

After signing up, set up your user profile so people can find you and see what you're interested in. Then join our [email protected] alias to find out the latest about what's happening with Project Kenai.

Projects

Explore the Projects Page to find projects you're interested in joining. If you have an invitation, start hosting up to 5 projects of your own, and share up to 3 invitations with your friends.

Host Your Code

With every project you host, you get up to 5 source code repositories, any combination of Subversion, Mercurial, and Git.

Mailing Lists

Use up to five mailing lists to communicate with team members and the community.

Forums

Discuss the project on up to five message forums.

Wiki

Start using your wiki to build information and knowledge around your project.

Issue Tracking

Use the JIRA or Bugzilla issue tracker to start squashing bugs and adding feature suggestions.

Downloads

Post your project download files, like the latest project builds, on a Downloads page.

Department of Telecom has issued ( .pdf ) a notification stating that long awaited number portability will finally be available by September 20. The main object of number portability is to be able to retain the same number even after switching between different mobile service providers.   Mobile Number Portability gives a mobile subscriber the leverage of retaining his/her mobile phone number even after switching between networks. Introduction to GSM / GPRS Wireless Modems

What is a GSM Modem? A GSM modem is a wireless modem that works with a GSM wireless network. A wireless modem behaves like a dial-up modem. The main difference between them is that a dial-up modem sends and receives data through a fixed telephone line while a wireless modem sends and receives data through radio waves. A GSM modem can be an external device or a PC Card / PCMCIA Card. Typically, an external GSM modem is connected to a computer through a serial cable or a USB cable. A GSM modem in the form of a PC Card / PCMCIA Card is designed for use with a laptop computer. It should be inserted into one of the PC Card / PCMCIA Card slots of a laptop computer. Like a GSM mobile phone, a GSM modem requires a SIM card from a wireless carrier in order to operate.
