Meetin.gs

This is a cloud application to schedule and manage meetings with ease. Users can invite colleagues and clients to meetings and get confirmation of their attendance too. No downloads, nothing to install. Just login through your Facebook account and add setup@meetin.gs to your meeting guest list on either the Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook. This creates a centrally accessible area for the meeting participants. The application, on its own, emails the login links to all the participants you've chosen, rightaway. And, whenever he or she makes changes or updates to a meeting schedule, you get to know of it, immediately. Posting of agenda well ahead of the meeting can be of great help as it can be edited by colleagues / participants, if need be. The Sharing of notes is a very useful feature too as it is more effective than volleying across scores of emails. The other advantages include Meetin.gs works on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch, supports Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar. The disadvantage part – insistence on using personal Facebook account to login, some would be reluctant to do so.

Meetin.gs, its alternatives include Doodle, MeetingWave, can be checked out at http://meetin.gs

Otomata

If you love playing around with musical sounds, you would find Otomata great. Created by Batuhan Bozkurt, a sound artist and computer programmer, living in Istanbul, Otomata is an online generative sequencer that produces "sound events" through the movement of cells. Each alive cell has 4 states: Up, right, down, left. at each cycle, the cells move themselves in the direction of their internal states. Chaotic results can happen in some settings, but, this is the begining of gradually evolving sequences. Experiment by adding some cells, move them in different ways to create a range of sounds and textures, change their orientation, to have fun, I did! A demonstration video hosted at the website shows how to get started.

This version is compatible with all operating systems, can be downloaded at www.earslap.com

Beware, Otomata can become quite addictive!

SignNow

This is indeed an innovative cloud application,  a quickest and simplest way to get a document signed by people wherever they may be based. The documents can be got signed electronically by any number of people who are separated by great distances.  It is secure as bank level SSL encryption is deployed on the entire site, and as soon as the documents are done they are deleted.  And, what more, it is legal wherever electronic signatures are held valid even though the digital  signature generated by SignNow may look a bit odd! How to use it? Simple, just upload the document, to sign the document scroll to the place where your signature is needed and simply click. Choose whether you want to draw or type your signature. Select one of the options.and sign, and add a sticky note to indicate the place of signature where your client or whoever has to sign, and send it to them, that's all to it.  SignNow  works on every major browser and touchscreen mobile device including iPhone and Android.

Check it out at https://signnow.com/

Why is the application being offered free, well, this is what the developer has to say - "We believe the tools in SignNow Pro are so powerful that you will upgrade for a low monthly price".

A Java based application Super Image Resizer  can help to  resize, rotate using camera data and create thumbnails for image folders.  It  can process lots  of files, just with a few clicks.  It can also be used to add borders to  images and even to overlay watermarks, and  users can even customize the appearance of thumbnails. The interface is plain simple and easy to use, just check the box against the feature which you would like to use while converting and also fix  the parameter in each section. Microsoft Download Manager

The Microsoft Download Manager can help download files with ease. In the case of  downloading large files such as application and multimedia files it is quite quick and dependable. The application has specific system requirements in order for it to operate normally. It  requires one of these OS: Windows© XP with Service Pack 3, Windows Vista© with Service Pack 2, Windows 7, Windows Server© 2008 R2, and presently supports only two Web browsers, Internet Explorer (8 and 9), and Firefox. With an easy-to-use interface the application shows the status of downloads and enables you to resume downloads if they fail.  The installation of Microsoft Download Manager requires administrative access to your computer and depending on your PC's Internet security settings installation of ActiveX control as well. This is done automatically, failing which you can download it  manually by using the browser.

The 1 MB easy-to- use-interface Microsoft Download Manager  v1.2 (10 June 2011) can be downloaded at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=26214

Yes, you can use it to capture and record your thoughts and ideas, sift through, and organize them. Not only notes can be recorded using this application, even import of data from existing files is possible.

Among the other features are: recording of multiple fields on a note, a field editor to name and organize fields and to set properties, such as whether a field should appear on the front or back side of the note, notes can be saved to csv file format to help open them in a variety of application, and choice of colours for each sticky note. StickySorter supports Affinity Diagramming, a data analysis method which is used in many disciplines including user research, product planning, and design.

Wunderlist

Wunderlist is another note-taking utility. As it is web-based it would be well liked by people who are wary of downloading things from the web. Like StickySorter, it is a task management application to help stay organized whether you're using a Windows or Mac operating system, using an iPhone or an Android device, or even an iPad.

Practical applications include: Keeping track of everything you want to do, make separate lists, one for your work life and the other personal; check off items done, use it from your ownbrowser. Individual tasks and entire lists can be shared by email, Facebook, or Twitter, and completed tasks can be viewed as separate lists. Search for specific tasks can be carried out by keyword, specific dates and times. Important tasks can be marked and these override other less important ones.
